leigh folk festival 2013

I am totally chuffed to be playing at The Leigh Folk Festival this summer. I went along last year to see my disgustingly talented friend Tim Graham play and had an absolute blast.

It is the biggest free folk festival in Britain; a super fun long weekend by the sea with music taking over the whole of the town.

I will be playing at 11.55am on Sunday 30th June and be joined by at least two other brilliant musicians and maybe more if i am lucky.

free southbank gig

I don’t use the word ‘love’ often about venues but I can whole heartedly use it to describe the Southbank Centre. It is one of my favourite places in London and the scene of some of the best gigs I have done.

I am delighted that I have been asked back again to play a free lunchtime  concert 1pm on Friday 28th September in The Front Room @ QEH – do come with sandwiches!

I will be joined by Basia Bartz on violin, Candy Parfitt on vocals and Caitlin Roberts on accordion.

gig at the old queens head

How on earth did England get into the quarter finals?! My slot as this show has been cancelled due to a euro 2012 football clash…

I have just had a sneaky last minute gig request from the lovely Clara at The Old Queens Head in Islington and am happy to tell you that I am going to be playing at their Sunday Social on 24th June at 4.15pm.

You can find more info about the line-up and the venue on the facebook page here – http://www.facebook.com/events/326425260768928/

pre show support for sir simon rattle and the orchestra of the age of enlightenment at the southbank centre

Next Sunday 10th June at 9pm I am doing a pre show slot in the Royal Festival Hall foyer of the Southbank Centre as part of The Night Shift.

The main event for the evening is Sir Simon Rattle leading an 80-piece Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in two pieces by the impressionistic composer Claude Debussy: Prélude à l’après midi d’un faune, and La Mer.

last gig in england until september – POSTPONED

This show has been postponed due to a last minute gig offer from the Southbank, see above post.

I have a show next Sunday 10th June at The Book Club in Shoreditch for the good folk at ‘Live & Unamplified‘.

I am on early doors at 8pm joined by Basia on violin and perhaps some others.

Do come, this is my last show in London before I kill myself abroad doing the best part of fourty shows in two months!
